Hall of Fame center fielder Duke Snider dies at 84

D is for Duke of the Dodgers, one of the great center fielders of all time. Both in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. Back when Duke Snider played, there were three teams in New York -- the Yankees, the Giants and the Dodgers. It was the golden age of baseball.


Duke Snider led all major league hitters in home runs and runs batted in in the 1950s. He had 326 home runs and 1,031 RBIs. He played from 1947 through 1964. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1980 on his 11th try. He finished with 407 home runs.
