Some interesting statistics...

Between the Cubs and the Mets (who they play tonight) Some not so good for the Cubs, some not so good for the Mets. It should be an interesting series of games in New York.



Game Notes For Monday @ Mets

o These clubs split their six meetings in 2009 with each team winning twice at home and once on the road.

o The Cubs are just 3-for-14 (.214) with runners in scoring position the last two games after batting .342 with runners in scoring position in the previous four contests. Six of Chicago's 12 games this season have been decided by one run.

o The Mets have scored three runs or less in three straight and in six of their last eight games. New York has lost all four of its series' this season.

o Jason Bay is 0-for-8 in his last two games after recording at least one hit in all but one of his first 10 games to open the season. Bay is hitting .571 (8-for-14) in his last three games against the Cubs.

o Randy Wells lost his only career start against the Mets on September 6, 2009, allowing seven hits and two runs in six innings.

o The Mets have lost each of Jonathon Niese's two starts so far this season. In his only career start against the Cubs on September 22, 2008, Niese gave up a career-high six runs and seven hits in three innings of a loss.
